Since 2025, Paul Smith has been a member of the Canadian Children's Book Centre (CCBC)
"The CCBC was formed in 1976 with the belief that all Canadians should have the opportunity to read books created by Canadian authors and illustrators. Almost 50 years later, we’re still guided by this same belief. Since our founding, we’ve become a key player in the growing world of Canadian children’s books. Each of our programs are accessible across Canada, reaching cities and remote communities alike."

Since 2025, Paul Smith has been a member of the Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators and Performers (CanSCAIP).
The Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators and Performers (CANSCAIP), founded in 1977, is a national membership organization, a not-for-profit national arts service organization, and a registered charitable organization.
We offer professional development, promotion, and support for the creativity, craft, and business practice of creators and performers for children and teens.
As well as 400+ traditionally published Members, CANSCAIP has 600+ associate Friends that include emerging or self-published writers and illustrators, educators, librarians, publishers, and journalists.
CANSCAIP is inclusive, respectful, supportive, professional, welcoming and proudly Canadian.
